All Sugar Coated Skin’s sunless tanning products use a compound called dihydroxyacetone (DHA). This natural complex works with your skin’s own proteins to give your skin a 100 percent natural-looking tan color—without the dangerous and damaging rays of the sun.

The fine mist solution is gently sprayed by our trained technician while you stand in our portable pop up tanning tent. The DHA or sugar compound reacts with the outer layer of skin giving you a beautiful sun-kissed glow. Your tan can last between 7-10 days. We provide the sunless airbrush treatment for people in whatever they are most comfortable wearing. You may choose to wear a black or dark bikini, underwear, and a cotton bra, or plain cotton underwear. If you wear garments during your session you will have tan lines and the garment should be washed the same day. We also provide disposable thongs and disposable bra for a minimal fee.  *Modesty and appropriate behaviour is expected. Wear dark loose fitting clothes and sandals following each session, tight clothes may rub off tanning solution.

Sugar Coated is based in Oshawa and serves the Durham Region. You choose the location for your tanning retreat! The tanning process will only take about 20 minutes per person. A convenient pop-up tan tent is used. During the treatment you will stand inside while a technician applies bronzer. In 20 minutes you will have a glowing, long lasting tan. A local electrical outlet is
necessary, and for perfect results we require an area where there is plenty of light.

For top sunless tan performance, proper pre-tan skin preparation is crucial. Waxing, pedicures and facials should be done at least one day prior to your tanning session. Exfoliation should be done 24 hours prior to tanning to avoid patchiness and ensure a longer lasting tan. Hair removal should be done 24 hours prior to tanning to allow the pores enough time to close Moisturise the day before your tan, taking special care with dry areas such as knees, ankles, elbows and wrists. This will avoid the tan “sticking” to these areas and giving them a darker look.

Deodorants should also be avoided. Spraying over deodorant can result in green rings around arm pit and is difficult to remove. The top bronze spoilers? Hand washing and spilling liquids on the skin. Wear dark, loose-fit clothing and flip flops after your tan. Tight clothing can rub the tan completely off in most areas. It is recommended to wait at least 5 hours before putting on tight clothing. If you choose to wear underwear during the session, wear black. The solution will wash out but can dull light colors.

If you are pregnant or nursing, it is in your best interest to seek the advice of your physician, as Sugar Coated insists on having a letter from your doctor approving your spray tan treatment.

You will see color washing off the first time you shower. This is the surface color that was applied. Your skin will continue to tan as the self-tan reaction occurs on your skin. Avoid perspiring and be careful when washing hands and other activities as this may cause tan to streak until the first shower. Shower in 8-12 hours using a body wash or shower gel. These are less alkaline than regular bar soap. You will see the cosmetic bronzer wash off, this is normal.

Moisturize twice a day with alcohol-free lotion. Shea butter is preferred. Hydrated skin makes your tan last longer and slows down the process of natural skin exfoliation. Alcohol based products are drying to the skin and can cause the tan to fade quicker and unevenly. Avoid exfoliating skin and hair removal products. When showering, use your hand instead of a washcloth. Taking long, hot baths or soaking in the pool can accelerate exfoliation and fade your tan.

The use of Alpha Hydroxy Acids will increase exfoliation and accelerate the fading process of your tan. Do not sit directly on leather or light fabric seats and furniture after your tanning session. Sit on a towel or cloth instead.

11/06/2009- I LOVE my tan!!!!! I use tanning beds, but I’m getting worried about my skin and the side effects as I get older. Then I tried using self tanners, but they only lasted for a couple of days and they were messy! Then I found Sugar Coated Skin! It's so great! It seriously took less than 5
